Tips for Your First Lagree Class

Welcome to your first Lagree experience!

Here’s everything you need to know to feel confident and prepared as you step onto the Miniformer Pro:

What to Wear

  • Grip Socks: Grip socks are mandatory for safety and stability on the Miniformer Pro. If you don’t have a pair, don’t worryβ€”we have them available for purchase.

  • Grip Gloves: Not required but encouraged to prevent sweaty, slippery hands.

  • Fitted Activewear: Wear form-fitting clothes, like leggings, and a fitted top. Avoid loose clothing, as it can get in the way of movements or snag on the equipment.

  • Layer Up: Some people like to start with a light jacket or long sleeves for the warm-up, but make sure you’re comfortable.

  • Jewelry: Please leave your huge diamonds at home. They cut into our cushioned surfaces.

What to Bring

  • Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is key! Bring a water bottle to keep refreshed before and after class. Please refrain from drinking water during class. We want to keep your muscles time-under-tension (contracted) for 45 minutes.

  • Towel: We provide towels, but it’s a good idea to bring your own if you prefer.

  • Positive Attitude: Lagree is a challenging but a rewarding workout. Embrace the shakes and burnβ€”it’s a sign that your muscles are working hard!

What to Expect

The Miniformer Pro

  • The Miniformer Pro is the heart of the Lagree method. Don’t worry if it looks intimidating at firstβ€”your instructor will guide you through every move.

  • Each exercise targets specific muscle groups with slow, controlled movements to maximize results.

 The Class

  • Pace: Movements are done slowly and intentionally to keep muscles under tension. Trust the processβ€”it’s designed for maximum effectiveness!

  • Modifications: Your instructor will offer modifications for each exercise, so feel free to ask if you need adjustments.

  • The Burn: You’ll feel your muscles shaking, especially during your first few classes. This is a normal (and good!) sign that you’re building strength and endurance.

Post-Class

  • Expect to feel overwhelmed. Research shows it takes 4-6 weeks to adapt to this unique method. You’re learning new exercise names and new form.

  • Expect to feel accomplished and energized, even if your muscles are sore. Lagree is designed to challenge you. You will build strength but it will always be challenging; it never gets easier.

  • Hydrate, stretch, and enjoy the afterglow of a great workout!

Pro Tips for Your First Class

  1. Arrive Early: Arrive 10-15 minutes early to meet your instructor, get familiar with the Miniformer Pro, and ask any questions.

  2. Listen to Your Body: Push yourself, but don’t overdo it. Take a quick break when you need it but most important is to focus on proper form.

  3. Be Patient: It might take a few classes to feel confident with the movements but trust the processβ€”you’re doing great!
